1st Year Modules: Art Skills for Games, 3D Modelling & Coding and Scripting for Games
Introduction to 1st Year Modules
The first year of my degree saw me taking a variety of modules in different disciplines within game design. From traditional coding and scripting, to art skills and 3d modelling to games design context, I was able to gather a broader level of understanding in many areas of game design, alongside my chosen vocation: Video Game Production. I was able to focus my natural strengths towards art and design whilst surprising myself in my new understanding of coding principles.
3D Modelling
The 3D Modelling module was my first experience with modelling. The assesment brief guided me towards learning the basics of 3d modelling; from simple editing of polys to use of arrays, lofts splines and NURBS, this project served as the perfect jumping off point into the world of 3d Modelling.
Bellow is my submission video for the module.
Art Skills for Games
The first term presented an opportunity to learn foundational art techniques that we would then be able to apply within a game design context in the second term. Although many of these pieces are simple or to a lesser quality than my later work, these pieces allowed me to learn and practices art through differing mediums and techniques.

The second term allowed us to apply the lessons learned in the first term, within a game design context.
